Israel In the Media (1991)
RCA Urges Members and their Congregations to Actively Combat Media Bias Against of Israel

Policies Headlines
Jun 1, 1991 -- Whereas the media had a special mandate to convey news accurately and fairly and
Whereas any distortions in coverage relating to Israel are journalistically unprofessional and intellectually dishonest, and exposed Israel to unwarranted damage and
Whereas anti-Israel bias runs counter to the interests of the United States which seeks to bring peace in the Middle East
Therefore, the Rabbinical Council of America, in convention assembled, recommends that
1) Congregations should appoint a media watch committee to monitor news reports, editorials, and Op Ed pieces
2) Our members promptly and forcefully respond to media distortions of Israel.
3) Urges its members to undertake energetic efforts to educate the public concerning the true story of Israel.
4) Commends and urges for such groups as Camera, Flame, and other responsible local and national organizations which seek to combat media bias against Israel.
