Policies Headlines
Jun 1, 1983 -- The Rabbinical Council of America in convention assembled,

NOTES the election of new Chief Rabbis to head the Ashkenazaic and Sephardic communities. There is a growing need in Israel for dynamic religious leaders to address the religious, moral, and ethical problems which confront the Israelis. We hope that these newly elected spokesmen will be able to meet the challenges facing them. We extend our heartiest mazel tov to them wish them well in providing the proper spiritual leadership to our brethren in the land of Israel and offer our support in helping them accomplish their tasks.

WE also note with pride the selection of Chaim Herzog, son of Israel’s former Chief Rabbi, as President of the country. Our mazel tov to him on achieving this post. We hope he will continue to be an eloquent spokesman for the Jewish state.
