Apr 28, 2008 -- Rabbi Dr. Jerold Isenberg has been affiliated continuously with Hebrew Theological College in Skokie, Illinois since 1967. From its Fasman Yeshiva High School he graduated into HTC’s Beis Midrash/College program, earning a BHL and, concurrently, a BSc in Mathematics from Roosevelt University. He began teaching at Hebrew Theological College in 1974 and received Semicha in 1977, the same year he married Miriam Mayefsky and was appointed Assistant to the Dean of Students.

Rabbi Isenberg was soon given increased responsibilities at HTC, first as Assistant Dean and then Associate Dean and Registrar, eventually becoming, in 1985, Academic Vice President. During that time he earned an MSc in Mathematics from Northeastern Illinois University and an MBA with a concentration in Information Systems from Roosevelt University. In 1988 he received his Doctorate from Jewish University of America.

Rabbi Isenberg took on the additional responsibilities of High School Principal and Acting President in 1989. In 1994, he was appointed to his current position of Chancellor – Chief Executive Officer of Hebrew Theological College. Under his direction, Hebrew Theological College became accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.

Rabbi Isenberg has been a member of both the RCA and the cRc (Chicago Rabbinical Council) since 1977, a Vice President and chairman of the Administrative/Finance Committee of the cRc since 1985, and is currently Midwest Region Vice President of the RCA. He also serves on the Board of Education of Arie Crown Hebrew Day School. In 2003, Hebrew Theological College honored Rabbi Isenberg, for over 25 years of professional leadership and selfless devotion.

He and his wife Miriam, A”H, raised two wonderful sons, both alumni of HTC, who are following in their parent’s footsteps: Rabbi Moshe and Devora, proud parents of Miriam Orit and Rabbi Yehuda and Chani, proud parents of Eliana Chaya, Akiva Tzvi and Yocheved Adira.
