In a recent joint statement, Rabbi Shmuel Goldin, President of the RCA, and Rabbi Basil Herring, Executive Vice President of the RCA, announced that Rabbi Herring will, in coming months, transition away from his role as Executive Vice President.
During the eight years of Rabbi Herring’s leadership of the RCA, the organization experienced a dramatic spurt in membership growth, organizational vitality, membership involvement, communal leadership, and technological sophistication. Both he and the elected leadership of the RCA are looking forward to the selection of the new Chief Executive Officer, who will be empowered to take responsibility for what it is hoped will be a new era of institutional growth, expanded membership services, enhanced organizational partnerships, communal leadership, and the long term implementation of the recently adopted RCA Strategic Planning Initiative.
Planned, as well, is for Rabbi Herring to assume a new, more focused senior position at the RCA, while relinquishing full Executive responsibility to his successor. In this way, the RCA hopes to continue to benefit from Rabbi Herring’s impressive talents and abilities as the organization opens an exciting new chapter.
